No Rest for the Weary

Quick update from the last post. The baby afghan looks really cute with the third set of colors picked out- so yea for that. Sometimes that is the hardest part of a project is picking the right yarn and colors. Now, I just need to find time to crochet my fingers off. That has been a bit challenging lately.

You see, planning season has started at work. What is planning season? Every year from mid July to the end of September it is my job to tell the accounting people at the corporate headquarters how much it will cost to run the plant the next year. That, in a nut shell is planning season. Being the only accountant in the plant, that is a lot of numbers to be budgeting. The silly thing about it is that I needed to have my "first pass" done yesterday before I left work. Then the corporate people will look at it, and declare that I need to go over the whole budget again, but with different assumptions, or hopefully, actual forecasts of the sales next year. I guess the biggest frustration is that we (the plant accountants) are given due dates for various parts of the budget, and we are to strictly adhere to them. However, much of the information is dependent on the information supplied from corporate - which has yet to really meet any deadlines they have set for themselves. Talk about frustrating.

Other than that, nothing much happening. Met some friends with their children, for a bonfire last weekend. It was drizzling, and slightly cool, but fun. Gunga had fun running up and down the hills, but I had to keep a close eye on him as he tended to get close to the fire. However, the S'mores were good. It wasn't a good weekend for painting - did I mention the rain? - so the porch painting project is still on hold - so maybe next weekend (did I mention that it is hot and humid this weekend). However, I am having about twenty people over to the house next Sunday morning for a parade. You see, the little town that I live in has the huge 2-hour parade every year and it goes right in front of my house. In the past, it was just a few friends, but this year I have asked brothers and friends and such. Now I need to plan party food, and drink. Any painting will have to be accomplished on Saturday.

Well, I better get back to Gunga, he is starting to get squirrelly, maybe we can get outside yet (it started raining during dinner). That and I hear the yarn calling my name.
