It Has Been A While . . .

But I have been busy. Yea, like what else is new????

So, what is new? Well, I splurged and purchased a new laptop - with wireless internent capability. I am currently sitting in my friend's living room blogging while she is putting Gunga down for a nap and is also watching the football game. Now, I don't mind football, but I do not have deep knowledge of the game, and the nuances are completely lost on me. In fact, she has even taken time to draw a typical line-up to try to explain all the different positions. I got a bit of it - but if there is a test - you could count on my failing!

Last month I went to PA for a week for some training - and as luck would have it - while I was gone Gunga got sick. After a four days of trying to get his on again off again fever to settle down, and such Peach took him to the doctor to find he had an ear infection - his second. So, on the anitbotics he went - and by the end of the weekend - he was feeling better. The trainig was good - and I did well on the certification exam (99%!!!!!!). Now, this week I have a full day of training on meeting management - doesn't that sound like a ball?? It, actually, should be a good thing. I just hope that my team co-leader attends one of these trainings in that in his meetings (where I am co-chair), even I have a hard time staying engaged. Not good.

When I got back, I had 4 days to get ready for Thanksgiving - which turned out pretty well. Well, except for baking a pumpkin pie at 10:30PM on night before. This was due to another mis-communication with my husband. I thought we were only bringing one pie to his brother's house, when in fact, he had promised two. UGH!

Since Thanskgiving, I have been getting ready for Christmas. I am doing pretty well thus far. I sent out the cards this past week - and I think I am done shopping. Now, all I have to do is make one or two more batches of cookies, wait for the gifts ordered on-line, and wrap about 13 more presents. Oh, and decorate the house. I have been going small with decorating ever since Gunga was a wee one. The first year we got the tree up, and my husband put the lights on (for which he has lost that job for infinity!), and that was it. Last year, we got the tree decorated on Christmas eve (less time for little hands to "un-decorate"), and maybe the creche put up. This year, so far we have a bare tree up, and that is it - so far. I need to find a spot for the stockings, since I have stocking stuffers for the boy, and I would like to put up the creche again. Other than that, I may keep it simple since the more I put out, the more stuff Daddy will have to keep an eye on with the boy - which has proven difficult for Daddy to do these days. If I had known how hard it would be to train Daddy in how to handle a two year old, I would have second guessed having the boy.

Well, the boy is sleeping so time to wrap!

Happy Holidays!
