It is a beautiful Saturday here today. I spent part of the morning playing outside with Gunga. We raked some leaves into a pile and he actually wanted to get in and play with them! What fun! Two years ago, when he was 7 months old, he cried when I sat him in the leaf pile - of course part of that could have been due to the leaves being wet. Last year, he would walk through the pile of leaves, but didn't like the feel of them, so was not entirely happy to sit down and play in them. If I remember, it was a cold dreary day also. Today, however, he ran right into them, and sat in then. He wanted to be buried in them also, well, except for his face. I even got a couple of pictures of him. Peach was again a peach and took a couple pictures of both Gunga and me while we were rolling around, and throwing leaves in the air. I almost thought Gunga was going to have a crying fit when I told him it was time for lunch. It was close, but then I guess he was hungry so we got inside without any incident.
Last weekend we had Trick or Treat twice. Once, at Peach's house, on Saturday night, and then at my house of Sunday afternoon. Gunga was a cute little bumble bee, and he got the whole routine down in like 2 houses. In fact, when he was done going around the neighborhood on Sunday with Daddy (Gunga's request :)), he was very good at helping hand out the candy and reminding the little goblins to say "Trick or Treat". He got way too much candy, and Mom has been doing her duty and eating a piece here and there, away from prying eyes. I think this will be the last year I will get away with it. If he turns out anything like me, he will count and know how much candy he has. Maybe not, he doesn't have four brothers who would steal the candy when their's ran out . . .
Other than that, a week from Monday, I will be heading out on another training business trip - for five days and four nights. I am hoping that I will get some free time to go shopping. It would be a good time to start Christmas shopping.
Did you know there are only 52 days left until Christmas? How do I know this? Well, our church is having a Christmas Cookie Sale today. I, being the helpful type, made a batch of cookies (and a batch of candy that looked like baby poop when I was done, and ended up in the garbage). I had to look for the recipe, and went to a Christmas Cookie website and there, in bright bold letters was the countdown to Christmas. No pressure - right?
So, business trip in two weeks, then Thanksgiving (which I still don't know what is going on since my husband neglected to ask his mother). Then the rush to Christmas, the fiscal year end at work, and New Years. Sigh. Would it be bad form to give everyone gift certificates from a department store this year? Probably. Off to brainstorm gift ideas!
